Students at Schlegel Road Elementary in Webster have a brand new playground. This isn’t just any playground – it’s an adapted one meaning all students will get a chance to play on it.

Principal Francine Legette said, “Wheelchairs can get on, walker, even a kid in crutches and that happens frequently in an elementary school setting. Kids still have things going on and they want to play on the playground so now they are going to be able too.”

The project started last year and it was designed by school families, faculty and staff.

The playground was funded by The Johnson Foundation which provided the school with a grant to build the adapted playground.
