And with Hurricane Sandy barreling down on the east coast, Governor Andrew Cuomo has already declared a state of emergency for all of New York State.
Governor Cuomo spoke with reporters in Rochester about getting New York State ready and how Albany will be keeping a close eye on Sandy.
Governor Cuomo said, “We know full well from Hurricane Irene, the damage that could be done. And there we were prepared. But Mother Nature can be cruel at times, and she was to this state during Hurricane Irene. And we want to make sure it doesn't happen again.”
New Yorkers can get up to date information at governor.ny.gov and following the Governor’s Office on Twitter @NYGovCuomo. You can also receive notifications via email, text and phone call through the state’s notification system, NY-Alert, by going to NYalert.gov
