Missing Hilton man found safely

A Hilton man who was reported missing Friday night has been found safely.

Sheriff’s Deputies say John Collins, 79, of Hilton, was found in Fishkill, NY, which is in Dutchess County which is 60 miles north of Manhattan. Sheriff's Deputies say he stopped  at a gas station to get gas because his car was empty. They say he asked an attendant for assistance who in turn called Collins's daughter. Sheriff's Deputies say the attendant then learned Collins was reported missing. Monroe County Sheriff's Deputies contacted Fishkill Police who stayed with  Collins until family members arrived.

Collins was reported missing Friday night after he never arrived to pick up his wife from her hair appointment at hair salon on English Road in Greece. Sheriff’s Deputies say Collins suffers from dementia.
