Some Rochester police officers got into the Halloween spirit on Friday.

Fifteen Rochester police officers, who are part of the Rochester Police Activities League or PAL, stopped in at least three schools to hand out treats and safety tips to students in kindergarten through second grade.

RPD Public Information Officer Sgt. Justin Collins said, "Today we're here talking about the basic steps that kids need to know when they are walking through the neighborhood-- being safe going to houses that are well lit, wear reflective clothing, and not eating candy until an adult checks it. But beyond that it's to show kids that police officers like to have fun."

Police officers from the RPD all volunteered to speak to the children today.
