A new study suggests flu shots might help lower the risk of heart disease.

The study is out of Canada and according to researchers, people who receive the flu vaccine were 50-percent less likely to experience heart attacks or strokes and they were also much less likely to die from one.

The study looked at 3,000 people around 60 years old and charted their health over one year. Doctors say the vaccine could reduce inflammation in the heart.
