The Irondequoit Bay Outlet Bridge will temporarily swing open on Thursday November 1 from 11:00am to 12:00pm to release one vessel, a barge, which was unable to depart Irondequoit Bay due to Hurricane Sandy.
In addition to the barge, any other boaters choosing to enter or exit Irondequoit Bay may do so within this one hour time frame. Immediately after 12:00 p.m., the Monroe County Department of Transportation (DOT) will proceed to close the bridge to boaters for the remainder of the winter season.
It is expected that the bridge will be re-open to traffic approximately at 3:00 p.m. Thursday. The structure will remain in place through April 1, 2013.
