Update on local RG&E, NYSEG outages

RG&E and NYSEG tell News10NBC crews are working around the clock to restore power to the areas hardest hit by Hurricane Sandy.

The companies have approximately 500 line crews and contract line and tree crews working on the massive power restoration project across the state.

Locally, Steuben County has 700 customers without power, Monroe County has more than 8,700 RG&E customers without power(1,758 in Webster, 1,670 in Brighton, 1,029 in the City of Rochester and 806 in Greece. There are also smaller outages in Henrietta, Chili, Gates, Irondequoit, Penfield, Pittsford and Perinton.)

Wayne County has approximately 500 outages.
