A Batavia man is under arrest after police say he was high on drugs when he rammed a police car and then led officers on two separate chases.

Todd Weaver is facing weapons and drug charges in addition to a charge of fleeing police.

Police say it started when Weaver rammed a patrol car in Medina, Orleans County around 5:40 a.m. A Batavia Police officer later spotted Weaver’s vehicle on Oak and Richmond Streets in the city.

According to police, Weaver drove through several residential streets and avoided spike strips. Police say they were eventually able to get Weaver when his car ran out of gas on Clinton Street Road. Officers tell News10NBC that Weaver refused to get out of the vehicle so they broke the window to remove him.

Police say Weaver was hospitalized for medical reasons.

State Police and Genesee County Sheriff’s Deputies assisted in the investigation.

Additional charges are pending.
