President Barack Obama has endorsed Congresswoman Louise Slaughter in her bid for re-election to Congress.
"America's middle class needs Louise Slaughter in Congress to stand up and fight for them,” said President Obama. “Congresswoman Slaughter will create jobs here at home by building from the middle out, not the top down. She will protect Medicare for our seniors and education for our next generation. Middle class families can count on Louise and she needs your support on Election Day."
Congresswoman Slaughter said, “I’m so proud to have the endorsement of President Obama, someone who saved our economy from disaster, ended the Iraq War and has created over 5 million new jobs to help lift up the middle class. From helping to pass the Lily Lebetter Fair Pay Act to working on the STOCK Act, it is has been an honor to work with President Obama these last four years, and I hope we get to work together for another four.”
Slaughter is running against Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks for the newly-formed 25th Congressional District.
