Rochester teen pleads guilty to New Year's Eve murder

A Rochester teenager pleaded guilty Friday to a murdering a man on New Year's Eve.
Robert Lathrop, 17, of Rochester, shot and killed 53-year-old Matthew SanFilippo. The murder happened when Lathrop and an accomplice attempted to rob SanFilippo on Orchard Street. SanFilippo was shot once in the back and was pronounced dead at the scene. Lathrop was taken into custody three days later.
Lathrop, who was 16 at the time of the murder, will be sentenced on December 12. He faces between 18 and 20 years to life in prison.
