Investigators are looking into what caused a barn fire that killed two calves and injured two others in Caledonia.
The barn fire happened on McEwen Road, near Route 20.
Firefighters responded to reports of animals trapped around 10:30 p.m on Sunday. When they arrived, heavy flames were coming from the barn. They were able to get the fire under control in fifteen minutes.
The farmer, family and workers were able to get most of the other cows out to another barn. The two injured calves are being treated by a vet.
Caledonia Fire Chief Christopher Beach said, "The barn can hold up to, I'm guessing 80 cows, so if it had burned to the ground it would have been devastating. The milking parlor is attached to this so if that burned down it would have been a disaster."
No firefighters were hurt in the fire.
