Some students at School No. 15 in Rochester received a special surprise Monday morning.
A group of fifth graders walked into a brand new classroom Monday thanks to some Saint John Fisher College students.
As part of their field experience and course work, the education students spent the end of last week redesigning two adjoining classroom spaces and the youngsters were brought in for the surprise unveiling at the beginning of the school day today.
The students were very excited to see a livelier learning environment.
Fifth grade student Jerusalem Emmanuel said, “The classroom before wasn't really good, just not good color, it was really boring, but now it looks good and I really like the room.”
After the big reveal, the entire school gathered for an assembly to watch a video presentation called "Got To Kep Reading" put together by the fisher education students.
