Niagara County man killed when tree fell on him

An 88-year-old Niagara County man is dead after a tree fell on him.

Sheriff’s Deputies say they were called to a home on Wheeler Road in the Town of Hartland around 6 p.m. Thursday. When investigators arrived on the scene, they determined the man was cutting down trees in the field behind the home when one fell on him. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

His name is being withheld pending family notification.
