Surfers brave chilly weather on Lake Ontario

The cold weather was enough reason to keep a lot of us inside on Saturday, but it didn't stop a group of surfers from hitting the waves.
Surfers rode the waves of Lake Ontario near Seabreeze Saturday morning as a part of the newly formed Rochester Surf Club. The club is dedicated to promoting Great Lakes surfing and water sports. While it seems kind of strange to do this in the winter, organizers say they have a good reason.
"The worse the weather is the better the surf gets in Rochester," says organizer Aurélien Bouché-Pillon. "When it's windy, it's usually cold and the people are really warm and friendly and it's going to be fun."
Saturday's event also served as a fundraiser for victims of Superstorm Sandy.
