Man rescued from Genesee River

Rochester Police tell News10NBC a man was pulled out of the Genesee River near the Rochester Riverside Convention Center at about 1 a.m. Friday.

The man was found on a pile of logs and other debris on the river bed. News10NBC is told that two passers-by heard the man yelling and flagged down a police officer on the street. Firefighters performed a swift-water rescue and pulled the man to the street.

Police say that the man is a 25 year old Rochester resident. He did not have any major injuries, but was taken to Strong for treatment.

He is currently in police custody.
