A Rochester man with an extensive criminal history is back in jail, charged with lying to the FBI.

According to a criminal complaint filed in federal court Monday, 49-year-old Raymond Ouellette contacted an agent with the FBI claiming to have live hand grenades, a bulletproof vest and other police paraphernalia. The agent says Ouellette told him the items were going to be used in a future bank robbery.

In an affidavit filed with the court, the agent says Ouellette was trying to work out a deal to get his girlfriend off probation.

Authorities say he never really had the grenades.

Ouellette has several felony convictions, including an arrest in Florida for threatening to discharge a destructive device.
