Hundreds of children receive much needed pair of winter shoes

Hundreds of kids in need were given a new pair of much needed winter shoes on Saturday.

The giveaway was coordinated by The Father's House church and was held at their downtown campus on Lawn Street. The families were chosen and fitted for the shoes a couple weeks ago, but Saturday was the big day when they could actually take them home.

Church leaders say many of the kids who were given shoes probably wouldn't have had winter shoes at all if it weren't for this program.
