During Friday's calling hours, a restaurant in Webster held a fundraiser to benefit the families of the victims of the Christmas Eve shooting and the West Webster Fire Department.
At Hooligans in Webster, people could donate by placing money in a fireman's boot. Organizers say they held a fundraiser the day after the shooting and fire and that one was such a success they decided to plan this event. They also tell us that one particular donor was so generous that he walked in and donated $500 and then just left.
Organizer Jason Kafer says, "It is so awesome to see the community getting behind the people that respond to everybody else when they need help."
This fundraiser collected almost $2,000 in just the first hour.
