On Monday, four student athletes from Fairport are trying to row their way into the books by doing their part to help the families of the victims of the Newtown shooting.

The high school students are attempting to set records for the longest distance rowed continuously in 24 hours.

All donations will go to help out Connecticut families recovering from the school shooting at Newtown Elementary.

The students are rowing at the Fairport Crew Center in East Rochester starting at 7 a.m. and ending New Year’s Day 8 a.m.
