Cervical cancer screenings decreasing

A new study finds cervical cancer screening is decreasing among women at low risk for the disease.

Last year, a number of groups, including the American Cancer Society, recommended women should start getting pap smears at age 21.

Now a report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows the percentage of women 18 to 21 years old who've never had a cervical cancer screening increased from a quarter in the year 2000 to nearly half in 2010.

However, pap tests also dropped among women in their 20's who are recommended to get the exams every three years.
