Sad news from the Seneca Park Zoo, its 20-year-old female Burmese rock python, Daisy, has died.
Zoo officials say Daisy's death was age-related kidney failure.
Daisy was hatched in 1992 and came to the Seneca Park Zoo in 1994 from Glades Herp Inc. in Fort Myers, Florida. When she arrived, she was 5 feet long and weighed 6.3 pounds.
Normally, Burmese rock pythons typically live to be 20 to 25 years old.
There is another female Burmese rock python at the Seneca Park Zoo. Her name is Abby. The zoo is trying to determine if they will search for another Burmese rock python.
