Sex abuse case sentencing today

A Wayne County man will be sentenced Thursday after pleading guilty to 61 counts of sex abuse.

42-year-old Mark Chapman, whose last known address is in Palmyra, pleaded guilty to the charges back in December. Chapman admitted to having sexual contact with a person younger than 17.

Police say the crimes happened between October 2009 and February 2011.

Chapman faces 11 years in prison. A permanent order of protection will be issued for the victim at Thursday's sentencing.
