Katie's Law signed by President Obama

More DNA samples will be taken at crime scenes because of new law just signed by President Obama. The legislation was sponsored by Senator Charles Schumer.
It's called Katie's Law and it’s named after a young woman from New Mexico who was raped and murdered by a man who was caught for another crime just three months later but who was let go because police didn't have any evidence of a connection.
Katie's Law provides state law enforcement agencies with incentives to require mandatory DNA testing for anyone arrested for a violent crime and helps cover the cost of the process.
