NYS Assembly voting on gun control legislation

News10NBC is trying to contact local members of the New York Assembly to see how things are going with the gun control legislation which is on the floor Tuesday.

Lawmakers are considering several measures Tuesday. Monday night, the Senate passed its version and it was add punishments for gun crimes and limit assault weapons.

Governor Cuomo has been pushing for more limits and wants New York to be the first state in the country to pass gun control since the school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut.
