Syracuse University basketball is officially retiring the jersey of Carmelo Anthony.

The University confirmed to ESPN New York that Carmelo Anthony -- who led the basketball team to the national championship in 2003 when he was freshman -- will have his number hung in the rafters of the Carrier Dome.

Anthony is expected to attend one of the home games in February to be a part of the ceremony.

He will be the tenth player in Syracuse basketball history to have his number retired.
