Monroe County's Seneca Park Zoo announced on Friday that its 48-year-old male king vulture, Heathcliff, passed away. The zoo tells News10NBC, that the vulture has been with the zoo for over 40 years, and was their oldest animal.
Doctors at the zoo said that Heathcliff suffered from the gout, which is a reflection of kidney failure. Results will be available in eight weeks to support a definitive diagnosis.
