A Greece Police Officer suffered minor injuries after investigators say his police cruiser was struck by a drunk driver.
The Greece Police Department says Officer Michael Miller was driving southbound on Fetzner Road in Greece around 12:45 a.m. Sunday morning while responding to another incident when a driver crossed the divider line and struck his police car. Police say Officer Miller attempted to pull off to the right shoulder and turned on his lights to alert the other driver, but his cruiser was still sideswiped.
The driver of the other vehicle was 31-year-old Paul Mandell of Greece. Officers tell News10NBC that Mandell was treated and released at the scene for minor injuries. He was then arrested by police for driving while intoxicated along with other traffic and vehicle violations.
Officer Miller was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital where he also was treated and released for minor injuries.
