Do you have questions or concerns about New York’s new gun law? On Tuesday, you can get answers from the people who will enforce it.
State Police and members of the Criminal Justice Services will be in Rochester for a forum on the new Safe Act. It bans certain assault-style semi-automatic weapons and magazines that can hold more than seven rounds of ammunition. It also requires stores to run background checks on people who want to buy ammunition.
The forum begins at 5 p.m. at the Public Safety Building on Exchange Boulevard.
Former Monroe County District Attorney Mike Green -- who now serves as executive deputy commissioner for the Criminal Justices Division -- will be among those officials in Rochester.
