Beat boxer joins RPO for OrKIDStra “Feel the Beat” concert

A professional beat boxer joined the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra on Sunday for their OrKIDStra “Feel the Beat” concert.

Shodekeh is a professional beat boxer from Baltimore. He uses his mouth, lips, tongue and voice to simulate everything from drums, ocean waves, sleigh bells and other musical instruments.

The concert took place at the Hochstein Performance Hall on Plymouth Avenue Sunday afternoon.

Those in attendance even got to discover their inner beat boxer, because many of the songs invited audience participation and improvisation.
