Rochester woman sentenced in hit-and-run

A Rochester woman who admitted she was drunk and texting when she hit a pedestrian with her car was sentenced in court on Tuesday.

Police say Kashia Houston hit Sherry Argo on Thurston Road back in in November 2011 while Argo was getting out of her parked car. Police say Houston then drove away.

The Monroe County District Attorney's Office says Houston will serve two and a third to seven years in prison. Her license will also be revoked for a year after she's released and she will have to have an ignition interlock device installed in her car for a year.

Argo suffered a broken leg and blunt trauma.
