Possibly security changes at Monroe County Office Building

It's a measure aimed at making the county office building safer -- seeking to ban anyone who isn't a law enforcement officer from carrying a weapon in buildings owned by the County.
Currently, anyone with a concealed carry permit is allowed to bring a gun into the building.
News10NBC was there Monday morning as the new proposed legislation was introduced, banning all non-law enforcement weapons from county buildings and making a violation of that ban a misdemeanor with a possible fine of up to $500 and up to three months in county jail.
The proposal will be assigned to a committee and could come to a final vote at the April 9 legislature meeting.
