In a major step forward for proponents of marriage equality, a large group of gay-marriage advocates, major corporations and Republican lawmakers will file a brief with the US Supreme Court in support of gay marriage.
Among the companies to sign the brief are Xerox and tech giant Apple.
The corporate group, which also includes companies like Facebook and Nike, argues that gay marriage bans hurt workplace morale and undermine recruiting efforts.
Six Republican former governors will also be part of the filing, which the Supreme Court will consider when it hears arguments on California's ban on gay marriage beginning March 26th.
