Man charged with stealing from Y in Canandaigua

A Canandaigua man was arrested and charged with stealing from people at the Y in Canandaigua.

Zakarie Damato, 26, of Canandaigua, is charged with multiple counts of grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property and identity theft.

Canandaigua Police say Damato stole several items over the course of several weeks from the Y including wallets, credit cards, cash and electronics.

Damato is in the Ontario County Jail on $50,000 cash bail.

Police say more charges are pending.
