Head injuries among athletes are a growing concern especially concussions on the football field and now new research shows less forceful impacts like soccer headers, may affect brain function.

A study out of the University of Texas found high school female soccer players were significantly slower on computer tasks that required specific voluntary response than non-soccer players.

Experts say this shows even mild blows to the head can impact cognitive functions.
