People in Newtown, Connecticut continue to mourn the loss of the young children killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School and on Saturday the family of one of the victims held a fundraiser here in Rochester.
Catherine Violet Hubbard was a first grader at Sandy Hook and her aunt and uncle live here in Rochester with her cousins.
On Saturday they sold t-shirts and bracelets at the Eastview Mall to raise money for the Catherine Violet Hubbard Animal Sanctuary in Newtown.
Members of the Allen Creek Elementary School Knitting Club also donated handmade scarves to raise money.
The animal sanctuary in Connecticut currently does not have a shelter. This money will help them build one in Catherine's honor.
