The West Webster Fire Department has taken in more than half a million dollars in donations since the tragedy on Christmas Eve and on Saturday more money was raised thanks to the Fleming Point Retirement Home.

Those who came donated at least $10 to enjoy a pig roast.

Organizers say there have been so many similar fundraisers for West Webster so they wanted to come up with something different.

“It was just something we knew we were going to do for the last two months, and we just decided that this is the time to do it. Nobody has a pig roast in the wintertime, so we figured it was a decent idea and something different,” said Bill Ficcara, Fleming Point Manager.

The money raised on Saturday will go to the West Webster Fire Department's memorial fund.
