Police: Burglary suspect rescued from gorge after fleeing officers

Rochester police say a man had to rescued from the Genesee River gorge after fleeing from officers.
The Rochester Police Department tells News10NBC they responded to calls for a possible burglary on Dewey Avenue late Saturday night. When officers arrived, they found two men, who attempted to get away.
Police say they were able apprehend one of the men on Lake Avenue. Officers then followed footprints in the snow to the other man, who was trapped about 100 feet down the gorge near Riverside cemetery.
The suspect was rescued with the help of the Rochester Fire Department and then taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment.
