March is Women's History Month and a "Sunday Symposium" was held to kick off the celebration.
City Councilwoman Carolee Conklin was on hand for Sunday's event at the Frederick Douglass Resource Center on King Street.
In addition to celebrating women's history Conklin also took the opportunity to discuss the Rochester International Sister Cities Program, which continues to grow and thrive after more than half a century.
"I think it's also very important that this is one more anchor in a vital, historic neighborhood district,” said Conklin.
The Sister Cities Program is a partnership between Rochester and a dozen other cities located all around the world.
