He's only in first grade, but teachers say he already knows about doing the right thing.
Latrell Thomas was nominated by his school's librarian. She says Latrell was on a school field trip when he found $8 on the ground. He immediately turned in the money and school leaders later found the owner. His teachers say Latrell is a role model for other students.
News10NBC caught up with Latrell and his brother, Latoris at School No. 25 Tuesday morning and he had this message for other students.
Latrell Thomas, "Do The Right Thing" winner said, "To give their wallet back to the person because it's not right to steal someone's money."
Latrell also plays the drums and sings in the youth choir at his church.
