Two former City of Batavia firefighters and a hospital worker who pleaded guilty to running a sports gambling ring, will not be going to prison.
Firefighters Gregory Phillips and Brian Bordinaro, and Lance Engel were all given 120 days in a weekend work program.
They were also charged a $1,000 fine and given three years probation.
Both firefighters lost their pensions and jobs.
Investigators say they were running sports books, and police believe their client list was extensive. They were arrested in February 2012 after a 6-month investigation.
All three are due back in court at the end of the month when their 120 days will begin.
