News10NBC will get an update Wednesday on the cleanup process happening at Canandaigua's Kershaw Park.
Canandaigua Lake Watershed Association will host a meeting Wednesday to discuss that cleanup, along with other projects involving Canandaigua Lake.
The project began after a "black goo" substance was found last summer in the beach area at Kershaw Park. The city says that substance is probably engine oil from vehicles dating back to the 1920's and 30's that are buried underneath the beach. The beach was closed for the remainder of the summer last year after that substance was found, and clean up began in October.
Watershed Manager Kevin Olvany will explain developments on the Kershaw remediation project as well as creation of a water trail on Canandaigua Lake, among other projects.
Wednesday's meeting will be at the Hurley Building on Saltonstall Street at 6:30 p.m. You are asked to RSVP at 585-394-5030 if you want to attend.
