Charlie from "Willy Wonka" stops by Greece Athena Middle School

The original Charlie Bucket from the 1971 Willy Wonka movie is all grown up.
He stopped by Greece Athena Middle School Thursday morning. Peter Ostrum met students who are rehearsing for “Willy Wonka” the musical. He even got a chance to see a run through.
Peter Ostrum said, “These kids have far more talent that I did. They can sing, they can dance. They're wonderful. They're flying on stage just like we flew in the movie. Exactly the same technology. They've done a nice job here. The lighting, the auditorium, just tremendous.”
Charlie Bucket was Ostrum's only movie role. He is now a veterinarian in northern New York.
Greece Athena Middle School's “Willy Wonka” opens Friday at 7:30pm.
