A man is recovering after falling more than 150 feet down a ravine in the Town of Geneseo on Saturday.
According to Livingston County Sheriff's Deputies around 6:20 p.m. a 911 call came in to the Sheriff's Office for an teen who had fallen to the bottom of a ravine at Fall Brook Falls, located near the 5000 block of State Highway 63.
Deputies say upon arrival they found 18-year-old Robert C. Benjamin, of Warwick, had apparently been hiking with his friends when he fell into the ravine.
Sheriff's Deputies say Benjamin was able to communicate with first responders while they tried to get him out of the ravine, though the lack of daylight made it challenging.
He was taken to Strong Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Sheriff John M. York says that he would like to remind the public that though Fall Brook is an attractive location, it is actually on private property.
