Crews begin to tear down the East Avenue Wegmans

If you've driven past the East Avenue Wegmans you've seen crews have already been demolishing the old building, but on Saturday they cranked it into high gear.
Starting bright and early at 8:30 a.m. crews began taking down the building's roof and exterior walls.
A good portion of the tear down happened on Saturday but demolition will continue throughout March.
The old store will be replaced by an expanded parking lot that will occupy the location. The new store is slated to open up in May.
