H&R Block, the nation's largest tax preparer, admits it made a mistake related to Form 8863 for the educational tax credit. This affects some 600,000 customers who filed between February 14 and February 22.
The IRS continues to process effected returns but those returns will be delayed in order to correct the errors.
The mistake is also creating concern among college students applying for financial aid, which requires tax information.
Currently, H&R Block has not said whether it plans to offer rebates to those filers impacted.
