Diocese of Rochester to hold special mass for new pope

The Diocese of Rochester will hold a special mass to celebrate the election of Pope Francis.

The mass will be Sunday at 5:00p.m. at Sacred Heart Cathedral on Flower City Park.

Father Edward Salmon, a Jesuit priest who is president of McQuaid Jesuit High School, will preside and preach. Pope Francis is the first member of the worldwide Jesuit order of priests to be elected Pope.

All are welcome to attend the mass.
