There's been a lot of interest in the motives behind an armed standoff in Victor on Monday.
News10NBC tried to get answers directly from the man accused of keeping dozens of police at bay for more than 12 hours.
31-year-old Ryan Whidden appeared briefly in Victor Town Court Thursday afternoon.
A judge is holding him on $250,000 cash bail or $500,000 bond.
Police responded to his house Monday morning after neighbors said he came outside and fired a gun at two cars in his driveway. He then refused to come out as police from several agencies surrounded the house.
The sheriff says Whidden had barricaded himself inside a closet and kept his wife inside against her will. He's charged with criminal possession of a weapon and could face additional charges.
