Attorney General Eric Schneiderman announced the Gun Show Loophole has closed in the state.
That means you can't buy a gun and leave the gun show without providing you had a background check.
All guns will be tagged, so when the buyer leaves, the operator can check if a proper background check was performed.
Eric Schneiderman, NY Attorney General, said, "Working collaboratively with gun show owners, we developed a model set of procedures that the majority of gun shows will have in place. We're still going after the smaller players who haven't signed up."
Schneiderman says 80% of gun show operators have agreed to the rules. He wants 100% by the end of the year.
