Groups will start getting ready for the St. Patrick's Day Parade at 11 a.m. this Saturday along East Avenue and side streets between Alexander and Goodman Streets. City officials say traffic along this portion of East Avenue will be impacted during this time.
The parade will start off at 12:30 p.m. at the intersection of East Avenue and Alexander Street and proceed westbound on East Avenue to Main Street, then westbound on Main Street to South Plymouth Avenue. The parade will turn south on South Plymouth Avenue and proceed to Broad Street between Exchange Street and Plymouth Avenue.
In addition to the parade, Johnny’s Runnin’ of the Green will start at 9:30 a.m. Saturday. It will take place on Court Street between South Avenue and Exchange Street. Participants will travel southbound on Exchange Street, turn eastbound on Ford Street, then southbound on Wilson Boulevard to Fraternity Road. At that point the runners will turn around and head back. All streets should be back open by 10:30 a.m.
