Fewer people are tapping into their workplace retirement accounts for temporary loans or hardship withdrawals.

According to a report by World at Work and the American Benefits Institute, a poll of 500 companies found that loans only increased in 37-percent of businesses. That number was down from 49-percent of companies in 2008.

Analysts say the drop in withdrawals may be due to an improved economy for employees.
